- Situation: Public API (
api1.imea.com.br) without authentication, but the Terms of Use are explicit about prohibiting redistribution. The/v2/mobile/endpoint is not officially documented. - Recommendation: Module kept for direct personal/educational use. Not included in automatic fallback datasets. Users who redistribute data must obtain written authorization from IMEA.

Notícias Agrícolas¶
- Classification:
restrito - Situation: Private company (Olivi Produções de Vídeo e Comunicação LTDA) with no public terms of use about republishing quotes. Under Law 9.610/98, the absence of an explicit license implies all rights reserved.
- Decision in agrobr: Kept temporarily as a technical fallback for CEPEA (works around Cloudflare). Pending deprecation in favor of direct CEPEA access or other primary sources (DERAL, etc.).
B3 (Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão)¶
- Classification:
zona_cinza - Situation: Private company that publishes daily futures settlements without authentication or paywall. The data is the official reference for margin calculation (CVM requirement). No terms of use for programmatic access.
- Data used: Daily settlement prices of agricultural futures (BGI, CCM, ICF, CNL, ETH, SJC, SOY) via the public page + open interest of futures and options via public CSV.
- Recommendation: Educational/research use. Redistribution in a commercial product should be checked with B3 (marketdata@b3.com.br).
CONAB CEASA/PROHORT¶
- Classification:
zona_cinza - Situation: CONAB is a federal public company. The PROHORT system (wholesale
produce prices at CEASAs) uses Pentaho BA Server with credentials embedded in
the public frontend (
userid=pentaho,password=password). The API is not officially documented but feeds CONAB's public dashboards and mobile app. - Data used: Daily prices of 48 products (fruits, vegetables, eggs) at 43 CEASAs in Brazil via the Pentaho CDA REST API.
- Recommendation: Data of public interest (food prices). Educational/research use. Consult CONAB for commercial redistribution.
UNICA¶
- Classification:
zona_cinza - Situation: Sector association (Sugarcane and Bioenergy Industry Union) that publishes crushing and production statistics via unicadata.com.br and biweekly release reports. No terms-of-use page for data found; the portal footer states "all rights reserved."
- Data used: Biweekly Center-South crop-tracking report (public PDF) and annual production history by state (XLSX export from the portal, crop years 1980/1981–2020/2021).
- Decision in agrobr: The module emits a
UserWarningon the first call per session. Educational/research use; commercial redistribution should be checked with UNICA.
Brazilian Government Sources¶
CONAB (including Crop Progress), IBGE, BCB, ComexStat, DERAL, INMET, INPE (Queimadas, PRODES/DETER), ANP, ANTT, SICAR (Brazilian Forest Service), IBAMA, ANA/SNIRH, SFB and Lista Suja (Ministry of Labor) are Brazilian public agencies. MapBiomas is a multi-institutional project that provides open data with mandatory citation. Data produced by public agencies in the exercise of their functions is, as a rule, publicly accessible (Freedom of Information Act — Law 12.527/2011). There is no restriction on commercial use of public government data, but citing the source is recommended.
agrobr embeds IBGE codes for 5571 municipalities (file _municipios_ibge.json)
obtained from the IBGE Localities API,
which is public and free to use.
NASA POWER¶
NASA data is provided under CC BY 4.0. Free use (including commercial) with mandatory citation to the NASA POWER Project.
USDA PSD¶
U.S. government data is in the public domain in the U.S. (17 U.S.C. 105). Free use without copyright restrictions within the U.S. For international use, check whether CC0 was explicitly applied.
UN Comtrade¶
- Classification:
livre - Situation: Public UN data on bilateral international trade. Public API with guest mode (no authentication) and free tier (free registration).
- Data used: Bilateral trade by HS code (FOB/CIF values, weight, quantity) via REST API v1. Trade mirror compares the reporter's export declarations vs the partner's imports.
CFTC COT¶
- Classification:
livre - Situation: U.S. government data (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) in the public domain in the U.S. (17 U.S.C. 105), published via an open Socrata API without authentication.
- Data used: Weekly Commitments of Traders (COT) report, Disaggregated format, for agricultural contracts on CBOT/CME/ICE (managed money, producer/merchant, swap dealers and other reportables positions).
